A lovely lunch just down the hill from Cynynion Uchaf… 🌿 This week we took a little break and enjoyed lunch at The Pen-y-Dyffryn Hotel, just at the bottom of the hill from us. We hadn’t seen their new garden room before and what a lovely addition it is. Beautifully furnished, with views out into the garden. What a lovely place to sit on a sunny day with the doors open. 🌸 We enjoyed a delicious lunch. A ham and mustard sandwich (loaded with ham) with salad and crisps, a delicious goats’ cheese salad and a bowl of lovely fries to share. Our sparkling water was served in beautiful crystal glasses with lemon, and there were proper fabric napkins on the table too. It’s those little touches that make a lunch feel special. The service was excellent and Tamsin was so welcoming and attentive throughout. We had a really lovely afternoon. ❤️ Being just down the hill from Cynynion Uchaf, Pen-y-Dyffryn is a lovely option for anyone staying with us who fancies a good lunch, dinner or somewhere to stop for a drink without having to go far. It’s always lovely to discover and recommend good places on our doorstep, and we’re very fortunate to have somewhere as special as Pen-y-Dyffryn so close by. 🎬 A special evening for No Wake This week we were delighted to be invited to the private cast and crew screening of No Wake, a proof-of-concept short film, at The Farmers Arms, Kelsall. After seeing the filming take place at Cynynion Uchaf in January, it was wonderful to finally see the finished short and our farmhouse and surroundings on screen. A huge thank you to Brett and Gill for inviting us Dreamlands Film & Media and to Dave and Nicola The Crows Nest Cafe at The Farmers Arms, who also welcomed the No Wake team during filming, for their very kind hospitality. It was lovely to catch up with the cast and crew and celebrate such a fantastic team effort.
