Last Saturday night our town came alive with the annual Illuminated Tractor Run, held in loving memory of “Choc” Roberts - a young farmer taken far too soon at just 26 years old 💛 Hundreds of local farmers gave their time, decorating tractors with lights and air horns, driving through villages and Oswestry to raise funds for Lingen Davies Cancer Charity. Support from the community was incredible, with so many people lining the streets to donate and show their respect. We were especially proud to see our son taking part - third from the end in our Massey Ferguson, glowing with fairy lights and enthusiasm 🚜✨ Farming is more than a job; it’s family, community, and showing up for one another when it matters most. Events like this remind us how special rural life is, and why we feel so lucky to welcome guests here at Cynynion Uchaf, surrounded by such a caring farming community. 🌿 A Lovely Little Adventure Close to Home Had the nicest afternoon today catching up with my old school friend - over 40 years of friendship! We had delicious lunch at Dobbies Garden Centre, then wandered along the Chirk canal for a 10,000-step walk. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the views never disappoint. Managed to capture some beautiful photos. Hard to believe this peaceful spot is only 30 minutes from Cynynion Uchaf. We also popped into The Poachers Pocket to check their menu, a lovely option for guests exploring the area. A Special Celebration Close to Home 🎉💛 A few weeks ago we celebrated a truly special milestone. My lovely mother & father-in-law organised their own most wonderful 80th birthday celebration at Rhydycroesau Village Hall, just down the road from Cynynion Uchaf. With 60 guests, live entertainment & the most amazing food, the hall was the perfect venue. It has a brilliant self-catering kitchen, plenty of tables, chairs & crockery - ideal for birthdays, christenings, anniversaries, or any special get-together with family & friends. A lovely surprise inside the hall is a beautiful hand-made tapestry of local homes… & Cynynion Uchaf is on it! Not many holiday homes can say they feature in local artwork stitched with love. 💛 Feeling so grateful for my in-laws. Without their lifelong hard work, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
