Just over 4 months since our last visit to Chirk Bank☀️ My old school friend and I walked along the canal past narrowboats, ducks and carpets of wild garlic, before stopping for a long, relaxed lunch in the sunshine. This little bridge caught the light beautifully and the reflections on the roof were just incredible. It’s days like this that make a stay here so special… slow, simple and full of little moments. Days like today make you stop and take it all in 💙 Vivid blue skies, daffodils dancing in the breeze, sheep in the fields and views stretching for miles… it really was one of those perfect countryside days at Cynynion Uchaf. As I stood outside, a plane passed overhead on its way from Manchester or Liverpool, and it made me smile. All those people heading off on holiday… airports, queues, busy resorts… And I just thought, I wonder how many of them would actually love this instead? Peace. Space. Fresh air. Big skies. 🌸 Mother’s Day Memories 🌸 This beautiful photograph was taken in April 1942 on my Nanna and Grandad’s Wedding Day. Every time I look at it, I’m struck by how happy they look and by the strength, love and resilience of that generation. My wonderful Nanna worked well into her 80s and lived to the grand age of 92. She was an incredible lady who taught me so much about hard work, kindness and the importance of family. Today feels like the perfect moment to remember her and all the amazing mothers, grandmothers and carers who shape our lives and leave us with such precious memories. However you’re spending today, we hope it’s filled with love and special memories.
